Tradition.
Tradition can be cultural, or down right business driven.
For example a group of people gathered in a famous plaza dressed as their predecessors, singing as their predecessors, drinking as their predecessors, what their predecessors drank, etc.
Another thing is wearing a 'Paditas' branded T-shirt with the name of the brand in huge letters, smoking, drinking beer in a night club, searching for the next victim of culture: promiscuous human, to be available to you after some drink invitations, effectively removing any decency and conciousness from the individual; allowing for the immediate reward of sexual pleasure for that night, despite the many risks it entails.
Don´t make the confusion of calling the latter tradition sane. Just because it is a tradition. Anything that has the business motive will be corrupt in essence.

The stupidity.
The pointless human being populating the face of present day planet earth... no surprise doesn´t get it.
The old ways of thinking are no longer sustainable.
People think that because a system works in such a way for so long, and probably has worked as such since the development of his consciousness, somehow the system will continue to work regardless of the emergent nature of our universe.
There is no Utopia. Once one dreamed of becoming wiser. And one became wiser. The dream came true. But that doesn´t mean the dream ends there. The next dream might be to become even wiser... and so on.
There is no constant but change.
I say it is time to change from a monetary system to a resource based economy. We have the tools and wisdom now to achieve this. For the betterment of human life, and earth´s sustainability.
